What We're All About
Organized in 2011 as a tax-exempt public charity, the
Detroit Crime Commission is staffed by highly trained
former Federal Bureau of Investigation and Michigan State
Police investigators. Andrew Arena, the former top agent
in the FBI’s Detroit office, is executive director. Former FBI
agent Ron Reddy is deputy director. Former State Police
inspector Ellis Stafford is operations director. They are
supported by a staff of research analysts and others.
The commission serves as a citizen ally of law enforcement agencies fighting crime in southeast Michigan. Its goal is to identify public safety issues within the scope of its mission and to work to eliminate them.
A special emphasis is placed on criminal enterprises that prey on citizens.
